The German Bundesrat (Federal Council) ratified the Annual Tax Act 2024 at the end of last last week. In theory, the law exempts very small companies from the duty to issue structured e-invoices for the foreseeable future.

The German Federal Ministry of Finance has published its finalized Guidelines for Introducing Mandatory E-Invoicing. The new regulations apply to all B2B transactions between domestic companies and represent a significant step towards digitizing and simplifying billing processes.
