The cloud is unsafe? The security of sensitive data can’t be guaranteed for cloud storage? The guidelines of globally active corporations can’t be implemented with the help of managed services? Just the opposite!
Every second German company relies on cloud-based email security services
It’s no news that despite security concerns a growing number of companies are turning to cloud-based solutions. What is a new development, however, is that cloud services are now increasingly used to safeguard corporate email communication from unauthorized access by third parties. After all, the real issue here is the exchange of sensitive information, such as business-critical figures or personal data. This has now been highlighted by a recent study that Retarus has carried out in conjunction with marketing research organization Research in Action. According to the survey, about 49 percent of the German companies questioned are planning to change over to email security services. In France around 46 percent of companies are planning to move their email communication to the cloud and in the UK the figure is as high as 62 percent. The demand for email security is highest in the tourism and logistics sectors: approximately 70 percent of respondents from these sectors indicated that they are planning the move to cloud services within the near future. The study was based on the responses of decision makers from 900 companies of all sizes and from all fields of business.
Secure and flexible email communication
Apart from the NSA scandal, ever more sophisticated methods of cyber attacks and increasingly stringent regulations and compliance guidelines have turned the attention of IT decision makers towards managed services. Fulfilling all current requirements with systems run in-house would be very expensive and require a great deal of effort.
Retarus Email Security, on the other hand, offer numerous benefits. They are easy to implement and provide comprehensive virus protection as well as spam and phishing filters. In contrast to on-premise systems, cloud services are completely scalable at all times. So costs and efforts are always based on current demand and usage. Email servers and backup infrastructures are significantly unburdened, boosting performance significantly. Compliance guidelines and industry standards as well as national and international regulations, such as HIPAA or the EU Data Protection Directive, can also be implemented easily with the help of managed services. By means of SLAs the customers can gain binding assurance of precisely where and according to which legal requirements the data processing takes place. By using managed services companies thus benefit from optimized business processes – allowing them to focus human and other resources on their core competencies once again.
