Retarus honored as one of “Bayerns Best 50” for the third time
Distinction bestowed by the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger
“We are very pleased to be honored with the Bayerns Best 50 award for the third time, placing us firmly and consistently among the top enterprises in Bavaria,” said Martin Hager, Retarus’ founder and CEO, upon receiving the award at Schleißheim Palace near Munich. “Receiving this award for the third time is an affirmation of our crisis-proof growth strategy, which is aimed at achieving long-term growth. The recognition of our efforts at the highest levels certainly gives us added impetus to continue to resolutely follow this path in the future.”
Exceptional growth, year over year
One key factor taken into account by the independent jury when assessing companies for “Bayerns Best 50” was the above-average growth in the enterprise’s revenue and number of employees, while limiting the amount of turnover when comparedover the previous five years. The consistent, ongoing development and enhancement of Retarus’ enterprise cloud services in the fields of messaging, secure email, and integration & automation services contributed significantly to the company’s growth. This perfectly complimented the continual expansion of the Munich head office and Retarus’ self-run data centers, with the company also establishing and expanding new development centers and sales offices in Europe, the USA, and Southeast Asia.
Additionally, Retarus increased the number of employees in its sales, technology, and product development departments as well as in centralized administrative functions around the globe. Over the past two years alone, the number of employees has increased by 25 percent, expanding to nearly 500. The growth in staff has also proven to be sustainable, with the average length of service for staff exceeding five years – well above the average for comparable companies.
In-house vocational training makes all the difference
According to the initiators of the competition, company-based vocational training also plays an essential role in ensuring sustainable commercial success and instilling corporate social responsibility. Educating young people for their future professions has always been of crucial importance at Retarus. In 1995, the company ran one of the very first apprenticeship programs for IT professions. Eleven young men and women are presently engaged in apprenticeships at Retarus in various departments at the company’s head office in Munich.
Over the current fiscal year, Retarus plans to increase the number of employees by another 25%. More details and the latest job openings can be found on the Retarus Career Portal.
