Browser-based web access for collaborative, user-based faxing

The Enterprise Fax Portal makes it possible for companies to send, receive, and process faxes directly through a web browser, allowing businesses to collaborate more efficiently and streamline their workflow processes. It works on the basic principle of “fax boxes”, to which multiple users and fax numbers can be assigned. Additionally, customizable folders allow faxes to be sorted efficiently, with easy options to upload, download, or transfer documents between inbound and outbound folders and fax boxes.

Users, fax boxes, fax numbers, and folders are managed by way of an intuitive, state-of-the-art UI. The web-based portal functions independently of the email system and the existing communication technology and perfectly suits remote work and disaster recovery scenarios. This is because, unlike traditional fax solutions tied to specific devices or users, the shared fax box environment ensures uninterrupted access to communication regardless of location. The portal does not require the installation of any special hardware or software.

Streamlined compliance and audit trails for heavily regulated industries

User authentication for the Enterprise Fax Portal is powered by Retarus’ Identity and Access Management, which also supports multifactor authentication (MFA), an essential precaution to achieve HIPAA compliance requirements and meet financial regulatory standards. Additionally, all data is stored in Retarus’ highly secure infrastructure, ensuring compliance with strict data security regulations. The introduction of the Retarus Fax Add-In for Microsoft Outlook is particularly beneficial for organizations with many Email-to-Fax users or users who fax less frequently. The Outlook integration allows users to send faxes directly with just one click by using a special “Send Fax” button in the email window. The interface offers a simple way to enter recipients, schedule transmission times and select file attachments. In addition, received faxes can be displayed with details such as sender, transmission time and number of pages via a “Read Fax” button. The Retarus Fax Add-In for Microsoft Outlook is now available on Microsoft AppSource.

The new portal and Outlook fax add-in complement Retarus’ existing cloud fax service options, which include email-based faxing (Email-to-Fax/Fax-to-Email) and API integrations, offering even greater functionality.
