DZ BANK Group banks on Retarus’ Multichannel Messaging
Secaucus, 01/21/2016 // DZ BANK AG places its trust in Retarus’ messaging services for its electronic communications. The fourth largest German bank has in fact chosen to rely on several services provided by the global communication service provider. Retarus’ solutions are employed to ensure professional email transmission, SMS authentication as well as for fax communication. The crucial factors underlying this decision were the comprehensive product portfolio, allied with the high performance and secure processing via Retarus’ own data centers located in Germany.
DZ BANK AG uses Retarus’ services across the whole company for a wide and diverse range of tasks and scenarios. The cloud fax solutions are used in the trading of securities, for instance, where it is essential that there is legal proof that the documents have been delivered. In addition, Retarus’ Managed SMS Services ensure the secure and speedy authentication of bank staff in the IT systems. The passwords (tokens) are delivered via SMS to the users directly, within a few seconds. The bank moreover uses the web-based, multichannel messaging platform Retarus WebExpress to notify a huge amount of recipients about important developments in the context of investor or public relations in a timely and secure manner by means of email, fax and SMS.
Sector specific solutions with maximum security
In addition to the robust, error-free transmission of sensitive data, the compliance with regulatory guidelines was a critical factor in DZ BANK deciding in favor of Retarus. The messaging specialists fulfill, among others, the guidelines set by the German financial regulator BaFin (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht) such as MaRisk (Minimum Requirements for Risk Management). For security and compliance reasons, it was also important for DZ BANK to have contractually binding assurance that processing takes place at Retarus’ own data centers located within Germany.
“At DZ BANK we attach great value to compliance with regulatory requirements”, says Carsten Hoffmann, Operational Manager at DZ BANK. “In Retarus we have found a multichannel communications partner that understands what we, as a bank, really need. We have been able to convince ourselves first-hand of this fact, by means of a thorough audit.”
