August 24, 2023 – Communicating with employees, partners, and passengers is a key challenge for airlines. Suffice it to say that to keep airport operations running at maximum efficiency, the staff of major airlines send and receive on average hundreds of thousands of fax documents and SMS messages per month from their respective hubs, directly from their computers. For example, pilots and cabin crew are informed of their shifts via the so-called “crew fax” and their hotel rooms are also reserved via fax. Furthermore, employees are notified about last-minute changes to the flight plan or cabin crew via SMS messages to their phone. To top it all off, the hub management systems also generate faxes containing orders, delivery documents and confirmations.

July 27, 2023 – Munich-based enterprise messaging provider Retarus has entered into a partnership with Germany’s largest IT system integrator Bechtle. March 3, 2023 – The energy consumed by the Munich-based provider of cloud services comprises roughly 80 percent electrical power and 20 percent fossil fuels, the latter mainly dedicated to heating the company’s offices. The Criterion office building at Aschauer Straße 30 is predominantly heated by way of district heating, the production of which is not entirely climate neutral. For 2023, it is estimated that the emissions for the company’s share of total heated floor space will amount to around 52 tons of CO2 equivalents. Retarus is compensating for these unavoidable emissions by purchasing carbon offset certificates from the Stadtwerke München (Munich’s municipal utilities company). In this way, the company’s consumption is offset by emission-reducing activities elsewhere.

The Munich-based enterprise cloud service provider ensures that the authentication via email for digital voting meets the strict security requirements of the German electoral law, the federal office for information security (BSI), as well as complying with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This amounts to roughly 220 euros per employee. August 5, 2021 – Retarus has continued to grow impressively, even during the coronavirus pandemic. The fiscal year 2021, which ended in June, saw a revenue growth to more than 60 million euros for the first time. This represents an 11 percent increase over the previous year’s turnover and the seventh consecutive year of record results for Retarus. The sustained growth is reflected in the company’s workforce.
